In China, mostly tamed trend of environmental pollution
In recent years, China achieved positive results in the prevention and elimination of pollution. With rapid economic growth in China brought under effective control the trend of environmental degradation, as a result improved the quality of the ecological situation in some regions.
In 11th five-year plan surface water quality in whole country is stable, from year to year in some basins there is a tendency to optimize the situation in the field of environmental protection. The average concentration of permanganate dropped to 20.8%. According to data of state monitoring of water profiles, in 7 major river systems the proportion of profiles of water of 1-3 category increased by 14%, the proportion of profiles of water of V category decreased by 5.2%. The proportion of water 1 and 2 category in the coastal marine areas has increased by 2.8%. Air quality and the environment in cities in whole country is stable. The average concentration of sulfur dioxide in cities across the country fell by 15.8%, the concentration of respirable particulate matter decreased by 11%.
Increases the pace of urban construction, environmental infrastructure and capacity of building for environmental protection. Since 2005, in cities of the country increased by 6% rate the elimination of a centralized medical waste, and the rate of destruction of innocent household garbage increased by 8%, the rate of centralized wastewater treatment risen by 35%.
